Ordering Information

The following terms and conditions apply to all orders which are processed by Hughes either online or by any other form of communication and form part of the contract between us. Please read them carefully and print a copy for future reference. Your use of this site indicates your acceptance of these terms and conditions.

All prices include VAT. No contract is created until we have accepted your order. In the event a product is listed at an incorrect price due to a typographical error or error in pricing information received from our suppliers we will not process your order and will instead alert you immediately to the actual price of the goods. You will then have the option to proceed at this updated price. We will only process any such order with your explicit authority. Prices quoted are subject to stock availability.

With the level of fraudulent orders being placed on the internet increasing, we now have additional measures in place to check orders made via our website. All orders are checked as thoroughly as possible using the information provided. However as a result of these extra security measures, it is possible that we might need to speak to you prior to the goods being dispatched and may put the order temporarily on hold whilst we do so. Please do not be offended if we contact you to make additional security checks after you have placed your order.

Product images, descriptions and specifications are shown for guidance only; for example cabinet/case colours may vary, TV stands shown may differ from those supplied, remote control designs may vary during manufactures' production run etc. Some products may require set-up and/or assembly; for example TV's, DVD's and Hi-fi tuners may need manually tuning. TV stands/cabinet stands may need assembly. Washing machines need to have transit bolts removed etc.

Payment will be taken at the time the order is placed. A contract between us is not formed until we have processed the transaction and started the dispatch process. We accept payment by most major credit and debit cards. If you experience any problems whilst making a payment please click here for advice. We also accept payment by cheque and postal order. We use Equifax Cheque Services, a division of Equifax Plc, to guarantee any cheque.

All products are supplied guaranteed for a minimum period of one year following the date of delivery.

Price Promise
Hughes prides itself on offering great service, amazing products and prices too. As we don’t want price to be the reason you don’t shop with us please tell us if you see a cheaper price at Argos, John Lewis or Currys and we will match it - even up to 7 days after the order was placed! Just make a note of the make and the model, its price and the retailer that you would like us to match. We will verify this for and refund the difference.

Price Promise terms and conditions

• We'll match our competitor’s store or website UK price (excluding voucher codes)
• The competitor’s product must be brand new, identical to ours, and offered on the same terms.
• The competitor must have stock in stock and ready for delivery.
• We must be able to verify the competitor’s price and stock position.
• We’ll match the price of a product; not delivery charges or other services.
• Cannot be used with any other offer.
• We will not match "closing down" prices.
• We do not match the prices on Apple products, Xbox or Playstation consoles, accessories or games.
Please see our 'Delivery' section for more information on our delivery services. Our aim is to deliver all goods ordered within 7 working days, subject to availability. We may need to contact you before your delivery date to carry out additional security checks to protect our customers and/or make alternative delivery arrangements. If this is the case you will usually be contacted within 48 hrs of the order being placed.

W.E.E.E Directive / Recycling Old Appliances
The UKs Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations require that all retailers of electrical goods assist in delivering a UK-wide collection and recycling system to encourage consumers to recycle old or unwanted electronic equipment.
There are several ways this can be done. You may either take the item to your local council recycling site or you can contact them to arrange a home collection of larger items (there may be a small charge for this service). Alternatively you can bring the item in to one of our stores; please contact us for your nearest location.

Electronic waste is one of the fastest growing waste streams and much of it can be recycled and resources recovered to make new consumer products. All electrical items sold now carry the 'crossed out wheeled bin' symbol.
Unwanted electrical items should not be placed into the normal domestic waste stream. Please contact us if you are unsure what to do with your appliance.

Under the Waste Battery Regulations, we offer a take back scheme for all portable waste batteries You can return your waste batteries to our business premises either Store or Service Department in person.

Alternatively, you can find your local waste portable battery recycling facility at www.recyclenow.co.uk

Most supermarkets and shops that sell batteries will have collection bins for used batteries, and some town halls, libraries or schools may also set up collection points. End-users may find stores in their local area more accessible.
